A few weeks back, after a doctors appointment we had the opportunity to visit the Discovery Science Center. It was our first time visiting and we had a great time.
She learned about sound waves while playing the harp with invisible strings.
Then she learned all about viscosity There were four tubes and each tube had a different liquid and a ball in it. When she flipped it over the ball flowed quickly through some of the liquid while it got stuck and flowed very slowly through the others After exploring a few other stations including a rock wall and an earthquake simulator we went outside to the bone yard.
When I saw how high it was I figured that the wheelchair wouldn’t be able to go up it, but I was wrong. I was happy to see that it was completely handicap accessible. There were a lot of fun learning experiences there as well. AJ learned about fossils, the digestive and circulatory system, dinosaurs, and more. They also had a scavenger hunt program where you had to find certain fossils that were hidden throughout the area. We started a scavenger hunt but decided to explore some more of the exhibits instead.
After the dinosaur fun we headed upstairs and learned all about rockets. Unfortunately the pictures that I took there didn’t turn out. Then she learned about wind. She went in a wind tunnel that had winds of 79 miles per hour. She learned about pitch and sound as well.
She picked out all of the correct products and ended up with her picture on the wall of fame.
After exploring for a while she participated in a minute to win it game. Amazingly, she won every challenge (maybe there is a game show in our future) The videos wouldn’t post here, but you can see them on my blog facebook page, facebook.com/DailyLifeBlog (Feel free to like the page while you are there)
We had a great time discovering and exploring at the Discovery Science Center. We will definitely be going back there was so much to learn and do.
I am blogging through the alphabet with Ben and ME.
